AI is a tool, but it isn’t going to replace a real human connection, self-worth and the sense of belonging that we derive from genuine human relationships. Dr Rowe says our brains are structured and built biologically for human connection: “That’s our primary drive from when we’re born — we need safety and security as sentient beings. She says that from puberty to about 25 years old people are developing autonomy, exploring sexuality and finding their identity. This includes increasing distance from parents. “In terms of having another outlet to potentially explore yourself I think, for this generation, it’s just going to be part of their life.”
